Getting to Salt Spring Island
Unless traveling by private boat, most people arrive on Salt Spring Island by ferry or seaplane. There are three ferry terminals on Salt Spring
Island: Long Harbour,
Fulford Harbour, and Vesuvius. If you are coming from the Vancouver area, you will
depart from the Tsawwassen ferry terminal to arrive in Long Harbour. Depending
on the ferry you take, the trip will be about 90 minutes on a non-stop cruise,
or longer if the ferry stops at other islands. In any case, the trip is
beautiful, and you may be lucky enough to spot Orca whales, harbour seals, or
sea otters along the way. From the Victoria area, you will depart from Swartz
Bay, taking a 35 minute trip to Fulford. If arriving from Nanaimo or other more
northern Vancouver Island areas, you will depart from the Crofton terminal,
arriving in Vesuvius on Salt Spring after a 20 minute ride. Note that the
ferries can be extremely busy from June to September, and especially on long
weekends. Reservations are a must both arriving and leaving! Check our

Getting to Frog Hollow Guest Cottage
....from Long Harbour ferry terminal (arriving from Tsawwassen)
When you leave the ferry, drive along Long Harbour Road several kilometers to
the stop sign. Turn left towards Ganges. At the next stop sign, turn right onto
Lower Ganges Road. After several kilometers you will pass a golf course on your
right. The next main intersection has on its four corners a park, fire hall,
small community building/cinema, and a waterworks yard. Continue straight
through (you do not stop, the cross road does), and you are now on North End
Road. You'll pass by Saint Mary Lake, then wind along our beautiful country
road. On your left you'll pass Epron Road, then Mariko Road. The next street on
the right will be North Beach Road, and now you've nearly arrived! The very next
road on the left will have a sign for our property, 2232 North End Road, and our
Frog Hollow sign. Cedar Meadows is also at this road. Turn left and go to the
first driveway on your left. You've arrived! ....from Fulford ferry terminal
(arriving from Swartz Bay - Victoria area)
As you leave the ferry terminal continue up the hill and veer left at top,
towards Ganges. Follow this main road (Fulford-Ganges Road) for about twenty
minutes to the town of Ganges, then just continue on this main road, which will
change its name to Lower Ganges, and eventually, past the golf course, to North
End Road. On North End Road you'll pass by Saint Mary Lake, then wind along our
beautiful country road. On your left you'll pass Epron Road, then Mariko Road.
The next street on the right will be North Beach Road, and now you've nearly
arrived! The very next road on the left will have a sign for our property, 2232
North End Road, and our Frog Hollow sign. Cedar Meadows is also at this road.
Turn left and go to the first driveway on your left. You've arrived! ....from
Vesuvius ferry terminal (arriving from Crofton/Duncan/Nanaimo area)
Follow the main road for several kilometers until you come to a stop sign. On
your left is a fire hall, on the right, a park. Turn left at this stop sign and
you are on North End Road. You'll pass by Saint Mary Lake, then wind along our
beautiful country road. On your left you'll pass Epron Road, then Mariko Road.
The next street on the right will be North Beach Road, and now you've nearly
arrived! The very next road on the left will have a sign for our property, 2232
North End Road, and our Frog Hollow sign. Cedar Meadows is also at this road.
Turn left and go to the first driveway on your left. You've arrived! We are
about ten minutes from the town of Ganges. We suggest you
